Citizen Corps

CERT is a FEMA sponsored nationwide program where members can assist others by applying the basic response and organizational skills they learn in training. These skills can help save and sustain lives following a disaster and apply to daily emergencies. For information on the national program click the CERT logo on the left. The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is made up of community members with and without medical training, as well as public health professionals. Each individual possesses valuable skills that contribute to the day-to-day operations of the local public health department and during times of community need. Neighborhood Watch is a program of neighbors working with neighbors to strengthen the bonds of community. These relationships not only help keep your area secure, they will also help your neighborhood organize and respond to any type of emergency that may affect your area. Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) is a nationwide program that provides volunteer opportunities with the local law enforcement agencies that include Greenbelt and Park Patrol, Dispatch Assistant and Crime Prevention Assistant. VIPS provide important support to law enforcement and help serve a greater cause in our community.
